All the people we support at NZCL come to us with different needs and preferences – and we believe in giving each one the support they need to live well. For those with complex behavioural, health, and social needs, NZCL offers Intensive Support Services (ISS).
Fully funded for those who are eligible, NZCL’s ISS provides a carefully designed home environment where people are supported towards greater independence and wellbeing. We pride ourselves on being culturally responsive, and we work closely with both the people we support and their whānau to ensure that everyone’s needs are met.
We recently received a lovely piece of feedback from the mother of one of the people supported by our ISS. The NZCL team was incredibly pleased and humbled to hear such a glowing personal account of how ISS can make a difference in someone’s life, and we’ve included the message below to highlight how this service can be transformational for families as well as individuals.
Wow, where do I start with our family’s journey with Matt* being supported by NZCL?
If it wasn’t for NZCL taking Matt in at a young age – when no other organisations would take him because of his age… I’m very, very happy with NZCL services.
My son requires a lot of support, including 24-hour support and assistance from two people for his personal care, so he is not the easiest to support.
The staff are amazing! Words cannot express how very grateful I am for the services they have provided for Matt. Not only that, I know myself how challenging Matt can be, and as he’s non-verbal, he can’t tell our family how he’s been treated. I trust NZCL and would recommend them to anyone that is looking for an amazing company to support their loved ones.
Our experience with NZCL has provided our family with a new-found freedom, allowing every member of our family to grow both individually and together as a family. Plus, when we have our visits with Matt, we can all enjoy our time together.
